It’s starting to feel like I live in that bar but I’m not really complaining that much. Really special night with some awesome people. It’s the best party mood I’ve experienced there for a long time and it was amazing. Everyone was really happy and everyone got into the party mood. No frowns, only smiles. And despite the rain everyone looked their best
Cassette Jam is an awesome DJ, loved his set, he blends tracks together to create something truly new and special. Sadly he’s running away to Berlin soon so catch him while you can is my only advice!
Those of you interested in photography will find the following interesting, the rest of you will be bored silly. You have been warned:
The cable tidies along the ceiling in Revolution have little holes in them (avoids condensation problems and lets them be lighter I presume) which just so happen to be perfectly spaced to let the feet on a remote slaved Canon flash slide through and hang as if by magic. You have to force the foot on in reverse so the light sensor points downwards but as long as you’re careful you won’t damage anything.
I was pleasantly surprised with the results and the way that the flash hung securely but could still be removed within 5 seconds. It was as if the things had been custom made, waiting for me to discover them!
Spotting down from the ceiling lets you direct your off-camera flash to illuminate the subject without casting shadows from items between you and the subject while you can use the popup card and on-camera flash to provide catch lights and ceiling bounced fill, shot at a ratio of something like A:B 1:1.5 where B is off-camera while A is fill on-camera. I’ve probably lost you, leave a comment if you want a more complete description and how-to.
